An atmosphere combining soft lighting, refined simplicity, and thoughtful presentation to deliver a relaxed dining experience at a fair price.
We had no intention of running a restaurant, as we had two closeby that we would be able to send our guests, but as we were building both restaurants closed. In 2015, we offered just one entrée, prepared each day in the house and carried down to our small beachfront garage on Playa de Coco. In those early years, through 2019, meals and small tapas plates were lovingly prepared there on simple hot plates, in a setting that was modest, personal, and full of heart. As the years passed and word began to spread, La Sirena Gordita grew naturally into something very special. In 2019, we added a full kitchen and bar to the original little garage, allowing us to welcome up to 20 guests at a time. What once operated for just a couple of hours a day has evolved into a sought-after dining experience where reservations are often recommended — a reflection of the loyal guests, warm support, and quiet popularity we have been grateful to receive, that supports our sea turtle preservation endeavour.
